PO-02-140 CENTRAL RETINAL ARTERY OCCLUSION: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW AND META-ANALYSIS FOR THE RISK OF NEW-ONSET ATRIAL FIBRILLATION AND STROKE

چکیده
Central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) is a devastating event and atrial fibrillation (AF) recognized cause that may not be present at the time of event. We aimed to estimate association CRAO with risk new-onset AF stroke during follow-up by performing systematic review meta-analysis published data. searched databases MEDLINE, Embase SCOPUS from inception May 2022 for terms ‘atrial fibrillation’ ‘retinal occlusion’ identified 205 studies. excluded duplicates, non-relevant studies those reporting after CRAO. used random effects models calculate pooled odds ratio (OR) 95% confidence intervals (CI) in patients or comparison control groups. Analysis was performed RevMan 5.4.1 (Cochrane 2020). included 7 1.476 compared group without (n=9.843) (n=7.058). There were 196 new cases (13.4%) 18 months associated higher (OR:1.59, CI:1.20-2.11, p=0.001) (OR:2.46, CI:1.74-3.47, p<0.001) when controls. However, similar (OR:0.83, CI:0.41-1.71, p=0.62). stroke. though Thus, should regarded as cryptogenic mandate closer screening evaluation early anticoagulation.

Intra-Arterial Thrombolysis for Acute Central Retinal Artery Occlusion: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Background and purpose Acute central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) is a serious ophthalmologic emergency that may result in monocular blindness. To date, studies evaluating intra-arterial thrombolysis (IAT) have not shown a definitive clinical benefit. We have conducted a systematic review with a meta-analysis to effectively evaluate this treatment option. Methods A systematic literature se...
متن کاملNew‐Onset Atrial Fibrillation After Coronary Artery Bypass Graft and Long‐Term Risk of Stroke: A Meta‐Analysis
BACKGROUND New-onset atrial fibrillation (NOAF) after coronary artery bypass graft is related to an increased short-term risk of stroke and mortality. We investigated whether the long-term risk of stroke is increased. METHODS AND RESULTS We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies that included patients who had coronary artery bypass graft and who afterwards developed NOAF d...
متن کاملSubgroup dairy products consumption on the risk of stroke and CHD: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Background: There is no global consensus about the relationship between dairy consumption and cardiovascular diseases (CVD). This study aimed at integrating the results of several studies to predict the dairy effects on CVD, e.g. stroke and CHD. Methods: In the present study, some major databases such as Scopus, Science Direct, and PubMed were searched up to September 2014. All pr...
متن کاملThe Relationship Between Physical Activity and Risk of Atrial Fibrillation-A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Aim: The aim of this systematic literature review and meta-analyses was to explore the relationship between physical activity and risk of new-onset atrial fibrillation (AF) or flutter (AFlu). Results: The search revealed 10 published studies that were eligible for three different meta-analyses. A meta-analysis of six case-control studies showed that risk of AF increased more than 5-fold in athl...
متن کاملBisphosphonates and atrial fibrillation: systematic review and meta-analysis.
BACKGROUND Bisphosphonates are widely used in osteoporosis, but there have been concerns about a potential link between bisphosphonate therapy and atrial fibrillation. OBJECTIVE We aimed to systematically evaluate the risk of atrial fibrillation associated with bisphosphonate use. METHODS We searched MEDLINE, regulatory authority websites, pharmaceutical company trial registers and product ...
